This project involved a repair and refinishing of a red oak floor that was water damaged. After the boards were replaced, I sanded stained and finished to come close as possible to the existing surrounding floors. Any attempts to match exactly is not in the cards, especially in floor work. Older stains and finishes have oxidized, and in fact impossible to assure exact matches using current, available systems. The best we can do is come close and in this case with the right sampling and approval by the client, it remains as near as one can get or expect! On to the next wood challenge! Anthony Magaro a.k.a. Do any of you have a recommendation on a wide plank engineered glue down on concrete for about 3000 ft.² for a home in Alpharetta ,Georgia.
